About Me
Hi and welcome! My name is Kevoulee. I live in Johannesburg with my husband, Faeme.
Since I can remember, my dream has been to be a chef. I watched Yo-tv for snack-attack and stole the kid’s holiday cooking section from mum’s ‘Your Family’ magazine. Mum’s two quire collection of sellotape stuck newspaper recipes became my recipe book. I cooked for friends and planned family dinners after school. I came home tired and irritated with studies and work to find solace in the kitchen. Then I started a baking business as a hobby— hoping that it would fill the void.
I knew this thing was me but was never able to study or do it professionally, and for a long time, I made myself feel like it was okay until it wasn’t.
I found myself fighting for a job that was fighting me. Risking the stability we had formed I quit my job and went to study at Prue Leith's Culinary Insititute-- to become a Pastry Chef.
Scarily, I find myself, for the first time doing what I want to do: Cooking, baking and writing about food. I hope you join me on this journey.
